Some of Our

 Wonderful Volunteers

Pogo (Shetland Sheepdog) was one of our most active volunteers, he visited Memorial Manor nursing home, Memorial Hospital Pembroke, Memorial Hospital West, Vitas Hospice in home patients and hospital unit, and also visited Elementary Schools.  He also did employee orientations twice a month for Memorial Healthcare Systems.  He is seen here playing Pokeno at the nursing home.   Pogo is now at Rainbow Bridge   Handler - Jana Thomas

Joy (Shetland Sheepdog), has happily taken over visiting all the facilities, plus some, that Pogo used to visit.  She does visits at all the Memorial Healthcare System facilities and new employee orientations monthly.   In 2010 Joy completed a 4 day Animal Assisted Crisis Response seminar, she is now one of 5 therapy dogs teams in the State of Florida certified to go where people are severely traumatized.  She is curently using this certification to help the abused annd neglected children that need to go through Juvenile Court proceedings.  Click on this link to see Joy on You Tube singing to the Young and Restless theme song!
